Anywhere from 25% to 30% of your budget is going to be spent on the cabinets and hardware. The cabinetry is going to be one of your higher ticket items, so make sure you keep this in mind when you make your selections. Depending on what you want in your entire kitchen remodel, you may want to choose a more economical cabinet style, however if you really see something you like, we say go for it! Your kitchen will be a long lasting investment that you will be able to enjoy for years.
Your next big ticket item which runs you about 20% of your budget is going to be the actual design and installation. Some people aren't aware of the costs for subcontractors, however if you want quality work and professionalism (the only ones we work with) then you will want to distribute a certain amount of your budget to this part of the remodel.
Around 15% is where you are going spend on your appliance selection, this includes adding a hood if you choose. However, if you want those stainless steel appliances like most people do these days, be prepared to add a little bit more to that percentage of the budget.
Another 15% is going to be all the drywall, ceilings, and flooring (depending on the size of job you have and what the remodel entails). Now, I can't stress this enough. This 15% would be for a smaller job that doesn't require moving walls or including other rooms for flooring. If you are planning on rearranging the layout or including other rooms, be prepared to increase the percentage.
Countertops usually cost you about 10% of your budget. They are not as big of a ticket item as some people may think; however, depending on your selection choice this could easily change.
So I know that your kitchen remodeling budget may be anywhere from 30,000 to 75,000 but the percentages of your budget are still going to be going to the same places as I mentioned above just on a different scale!
