- Open and Airy: White is the best way to go for this type of feeling. It gives a sense of space and relaxation. It can make the bathroom feel larger than it actually may be. Plus you can add pops of color in your fixtures, accents, and decorations. There are many "whites" out there. I would go with an off white, cream or soft. The bright whites may seem to harsh or like an unfinished canvas but it's really up to you and the space you are creating!
- Larger Space: Horizontal stripes (larger stripes) are also an idea for those who want to make space seem larger because it tricks the eye into seeing more space.
- Relaxing: In addition to a shade of white, I would recommend going for a pale blue, green, or tan if you want to add a relaxing feel to your bathroom. Pale blues can resemble the sea or sky which is calming, greens can resemble nature which is peaceful and tans are a neutral color that are not hard on the eyes.
Stay away from the dark colors, especially in small bathrooms. I know there are some interesting trends going on right now with dark colors but I can't really stand behind them. Most people want bathrooms to feel spacious and relaxed or inviting for themselves or guests. Also, don't forget to get some samples and try out a few splotches of paint before you paint the whole area.
