Stove: a stove and oven are often used interchangeably, but the truth is they are different in a few ways. Yes a stove can be used to heat up or cook food, but it also can be used as a heating source for your home. There are coal stoves, wood burning stoves, or pellet stoves which are stoves used for heating your home, rather than just your food.
Range: A range is basically the combination of a cook top and an oven. If an oven is placed in your wall with just the enclosed space it is not considered a range. A range must include both the cook top and an oven to technically have the name "range".
Oven: an oven is exactly what you would think it is, it is an enclosed space for heating or cooking food. That is it's sole purpose.
Cooktop: A cook top is what is on top of the oven, but sometimes they can be by themselves on a countertop without an actually oven connected to it.
