How to Achieve the Farmhouse Look

Hi, everyone! Welcome to my latest blog series. This series will focus on what materials you should use to achieve one of three main styles of kitchens. In case you're not sure, we're talking about farmhouse, transitional and contemporary styles.

In this first post, I'm going to be showing you the best countertops, backsplash, cabinets and more to achieve the farmhouse look. Any time you hear "farmhouse" nowadays, it should be noted that it's usually referring to the modern farmhouse. The difference between the two is the materials. Modern farmhouse tends to be more chic and sophisticated versus what used to be defined by "farmhouse."

I asked our Sales Assistant, Cadence, for help with this one. All materials mentioned in this post can be found in our showroom, so if you like what you see, feel free to pay us a visit!

My first recommendation when you dive into this style is choosing your cabinets. Cadence and I both recommend Woodland's Patina Collection. This rustic line by Woodland contains unique finishes and stains that embody the farmhouse look. Also available in this collection are floating shelves, another characteristic of the farmhouse style.

For countertops, we recommend a simple white quartz with veins for extra character. We like the marble looking quartz because it has the look of marble, but it's not as delicate. Luckily, there are so many choices for this specific looking quartz and it's available at different price points and in different brands. Below is a sample of our offerings:

Backsplash in the farmhouse style is simple: subway tile! Farmhouse is all about keeping everything pretty simple. The linear look of subway tile is the perfect captivation of this look. If you're feeling bold you can choose a different color for your subway tile but the most authentic choice is white.

Love the look? Stop by our showroom at any time for your chance to have this style in your home!
